Tokenized Search lets you refine your email searches by using specific filters (tokens). You can easily find emails based on the sender, recipient, subject, or even exclude certain keywords.

How to Use Tokenized Search

  1. Access the Search Bar
    Open the Canary Mail app on iOS or macOS and click on the main search bar at the top.
  2. Enter Your Search Query
    Start typing your search query. As you type, Canary Mail will show you suggested tokens to help refine your search.
  3. Use Tokens
    Choose from the following tokens to narrow your search:
    • From: Search for emails from a specific sender (e.g., From: John Smith).
    • To: Search for emails sent to a specific recipient.
    • Subject: Search for emails containing specific words in the subject line.
    • Exclusion: Use a minus sign (-) before a keyword to exclude it (e.g., -Jane to exclude emails containing “Jane”).
  4. Combine Tokens
    Combine tokens to make your search even more precise. For example:
    • From: Jane Subject: Support will find emails from Jane with “Support” in the subject.
